Huhtamaki India Reports Mixed Financial Trends Amidst Market Performance Challenges

Huhtamaki India, a small-cap player in the packaging industry, has recently undergone a financial trend adjustment, reflecting a more stable performance in its latest quarter ending March 2025. The company reported a profit before tax (PBT) of Rs 23.03 crore, marking a significant growth of 76.1% compared to the previous four-quarter average. Additionally, the profit after tax (PAT) for the quarter stood at Rs 25.65 crore, showing a growth of 58.8% against the same benchmark.
However, not all metrics are favorable. The PAT over the latest six months has declined to Rs 37.44 crore, reflecting a decrease of 38.57%. Furthermore, net sales for the quarter reached Rs 609.93 crore, which is the lowest recorded figure.

In terms of market performance, Huhtamaki India has shown varied returns compared to the Sensex. Over the past week, the stock returned 6.10%, outperforming the Sensex's 3.99%. However, on a year-to-date basis, the stock has underperformed with a decline of 23.25%, while the Sensex has gained 2.53%. Over a longer horizon, the three-year return of 14.52% contrasts sharply with the Sensex's 40.07%, indicating challenges in maintaining competitive growth.
