Indian Stock Market Experiences Decline, SENSEX Drops 0.68%

The Indian stock market experienced a downward trend today, with the SENSEX trading at 81,641.46 and a loss of -559.70 points or -0.68%. Only 4 out of 38 sectors showed an upward movement, with S&P BSE Telecommunication being the top losing sector and NIFTYREALTY being the top gaining sector. The advance-decline ratio was 0.58x, and small-cap, mid-cap, and BSE100 caps also showed a decline. In the BSE500 index, Gujarat Fluoroch, Godrej Industries, and Aavas Financiers were the top gainers, while Vodafone Idea, Indus Towers, and Indigo Paints were the top losers. In the BSE500 index, Gujarat Fluoroch, Godrej Industries, and Aavas Financiers were the top gainers with a rise of 5.31%, 4.76%, and 4.60% respectively. On the other hand, Vodafone Idea, Indus Towers, and Indigo Paints were the top losers with a decrease of -9.94%, -4.46%, and -4.35% respectively.

The small-cap stocks traded flat today, while Marico, Gujarat Fluoroch, and VST Industries were the top gainers in the large-cap, mid-cap, and small-cap categories with a rise of 2.87%, 5.31%, and 21.33% respectively. REC Ltd, Vodafone Idea, and Praveg were the top losers in the same categories with a decrease of -2.40%, -9.94%, and -4.59% respectively.

After opening flat with a change of -30.08 points, the SENSEX fell by -531.40 points to 81,639.68 (-0.68%). The SENSEX is currently 1.33% away from its 52-week high of 82,725.28 and is trading above its 50-day moving average (DMA), with the 50 DMA trading above the 200 DMA. This indicates a bearish trend in the market today.
