Southern Magnesium Reports Mixed Financial Results Amid Strong Sales Growth and Profit Decline

Southern Magnesium & Chemicals has recently reported its financial results for the quarter ending in February 2025. The evaluation changes reflect a notable shift in the company's score, which has seen a revision from 20 to -1 over the past three months.
In terms of performance, the company has demonstrated a positive trend in net sales, achieving Rs 11.62 crore for the nine-month period, marking a year-on-year growth of 70.38%. This indicates a strong near-term sales trajectory, as the company has surpassed its sales figures from the previous twelve months. Additionally, the debtors turnover ratio has reached a high of 25.26 times, suggesting improved efficiency in settling receivables.

Conversely, the financial results also highlight challenges for Southern Magnesium. The profit before tax less other income has significantly declined to Rs 0.32 crore, down 78.8% from the average of the previous four quarters. Operating profit has also reached its lowest point in five quarters at Rs 0.39 crore, indicating a negative trend in profitability. Furthermore, earnings per share have decreased to Rs 1.17, reflecting a decline in shareholder earnings.
