Fino Payments Bank Reports Mixed Q3 Results Amid Sales Growth and Profit Challenges

Fino Payments Bank has recently reported its financial results for the quarter ending December 2024, revealing a mixed performance within the finance/NBFC sector. The company recorded its highest quarterly net sales at Rs 49.35 crore, demonstrating a positive trend in sales growth over the last five quarters. This aspect of the financial results indicates a robust near-term sales trajectory.
However, the results also highlight significant challenges. The operating profit (PBDIT) and profit before tax (PBT) both reached their lowest points in the last five quarters, standing at Rs -383.54 crore. This decline reflects a concerning trend, as both metrics have fallen consistently over the same period. Additionally, the PBT has decreased by 10.2% compared to the average of the previous four quarters, suggesting ongoing difficulties in profitability.

On a different note, Fino Payments Bank reported a substantial increase in non-operating income, which accounted for 1,448.12% of the profit before tax. While this figure indicates a notable contribution from non-business activities, it raises questions about the sustainability of such income streams.

In light of these developments, Fino Payments Bank has experienced an adjustment in its evaluation, with its score shifting to -1 from -2 over the past three months.
